The Saint Joseph School's Day of Prayer II on Friday, 13 August 1999 saw the attendance of about 200 students on their annual visit to the Kuching Buddhist Center (KBS) temple. The programme started off with a brief Puja ceremony shortly after 8.00 a.m. By 8.45 a.m., all the students and teachers took a group photograph with the KBS English Section representatives and the guest speaker, Venerable Dr. Anuruddha Thera at the entrance of KBS.

Venerable Dr. Anuruddha Thera then delivered an hour long Dharma talk on "Buddhist Values" in line with the theme of the Day of Prayer II which was 'Honesty'. The question and answer session followed suit. The students bade farewell to the Venerable after a souvenir presentation to the Venerable by the 1999/2000 Saint Joseph School's Dharma Club (SJS-DC) President, Bro. Chong Wei Nyen.

After 15 minutes rest, the students returned to the Prajna Hall for a Hymn Singing session led by the members of the SJS-DC, Sis. Tiong Sue Yii on the vocal and Bro. Chong Wei Hin on the guitar. The students later arranged the chairs and tables in the hall before taking their lunch courtesy of the KBS at the dining hall. Our special thanks to the kitchen aunties and the KBS English  Section members who helped to prepare our lunch.

All students took the buses back to school by 12 o'clock. This Day of Prayer II would not have been a  success without the prior consent from the President, Mr. Chua Beng Thian and the Main Executive  Committee of the KBS along with the assistance of the working committee of the English Section. Our heart-felt appreciation and gratitude to them. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
